How to Become Involved

French Gulch - Upper Clear Creek Resource Management Group

The French Gulch - Upper Clear Creek Resource Managment Group meets regularly to keep residents of the Upper Clear Creek Watershed informed of project work in the watershed, and to identify potential future projects. Typically, meetings are held every 4th Thursday of the month, alternating between Board and Community meetings.

One issue the group has been involved in is fire safety. Landowner participants in the group prioritized a list of fuel hazard reduction projects. See below for pictures of the top priority project, the East Fork Road fuelbreak.

Additional work has been done on other priority projects by the Western Shasta Resource Conservation District (WSRCD). WSRCD crews also have done work on erosion inventory and fuels inventory. The Resource Management Group continues its efforts in working toward reducing erosion and increasing fire safety in the watershed. The group regularly hosts Upper Clear Creek Fire Safe Council meetings at its community meetings.
